I’ve been getting a lot of messages (and been quite frustrated myself) that NCAA Stats has been down this week. (To be clear, the site is up and running so you can view stats, but the functions we’ve taught you on how to automate your spotting boards using that site have been rendered ineffective.) Today’s video is going to address that and let you know what you can do about it if you’ve been building spotting boards using that website.
Also, this is the perfect time to unveil our new Chat feature at Play By Play U. Many of you have reached out to me over the last couple of days inquiring about the NCAA Stats issues, but again, the reason I made this website was to multiply my knowledge, conversations and stories across anyone who might benefit from them, and to connect us play-by-play announcers as a community. So, I hope our Chat function can do just that, and I hope you can discuss with one another better ways to get around the issues you’re having when they pop up.
Just click on “Chat” on the navbar at the top of our homepage or go to playbyplayu.substack.com/chat to join in on the conversation.
If you’re not a subscriber and want to get in on the action, it’s only $5.99 a month to get your foot in the door! Meet other broadcasters, pick each other’s brains, build connections, help each other along, and let me know how I can continue to add to this platform to better serve the play-by-play community.
